Bobby Short, 1924-2005

Here's a lovely remembrance of Short, whom I saw once perhaps seven years ago at the Cafe Carlyle. Short was undoubtedly too gracious to put it this way, but there on New York's upper east side in an elegant hotel, he quickly transported you out of the age of rap.
