Failing American Studies 101

It is amazing how Democrats cannot take useful advice. First Paul Krugman complained about Republicans crying "class warfare" when the Democrats gripe about tax cuts helping the rich. Now Maureen Dowd is jumping on the bandwagon. Don't these columnists read their own OpEd pages, specifically David Brooks' piece about not being able to win an election in America by attacking the rich? The New York Times staff would fail Sociology 101 or American Studies 101 at any decent university; they simply cannot and will not understand America. It is not that the Republicans cry "class warfare;" it is that they don't have to. Average Americans refuse to accept that the rich are evil, for they want to be rich themselves and feel that it is perennially in their grasp to be so.
