Keeping the Creative in Creative Destruction

Irwin Stelzer takes stock of the economic landscape and offers an anlysis inspired by Joseph Schumpeter's idea of creative destruction. Troubles at automaker General Motors, newspaper outfit Knight Ridder, video rental store Blockbuster, regional bell telephone companies like Verizon, film company Eastman Kodak, and many airlines mean good news for Toyota, Google, Netflix and adaptation or new avenues of business by the regional bells, Kodak, and the airlines.
