Yesterday was the silver anniversary of the U.S. Hockey team beating the team from the Soviet Union on its way to the gold medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. If you grew up in America in the '70s and were a sports fan, you can't help but smile every time you see this picture. Eleven months later Ronald Reagan took the oath of office and the Soviet Union eventually went the way of its hockey team.
