Hurricane Katrina

Peggy Noonan's is the best assessment so far -- everything from how political officials have responded to drawing a distinction between people taking water and food off of supermarket shelves to survive and others loading shopping carts with DVD players.

Update, 10:15 (Central Time) -- Maybe I spoke too soon. David Brooks deserves at least honorable mention for discussing natural disasters in a political context.
