New Biography of Krushchev
Two favorable reviews have appeared recently in the New York Times on a new biography of Krushchev by William Taubman. The first is by AEI scholar, Leon Aron, and the second is by former Reagan hand, Richard Pipes. The New Yorker has weighed in with praise as well.
Once Stalin's most loyal aide, Krushchev later "de-Stalinized" the Soviet Union and set the stage for Gorbachev. This biography should be the standard for years to come.
