Not Beyond Politics

It is true that I set up transnational progressivism as something outside of ordinary French cultural or political life because of TP's obvious disrespect for the state as the primary political unit. I was responding to Collin who sought to draw the French back into politics, patriotism, and the state for the sake of reducing their anti-Americanism. If Jake says that TP is part of French cultural or political life, I don't see how this presents me with the need to go "beyond" French political life. It merely proves that there is a variety of causes (all political) of French anti-Americanism and that a reinvigoration of French patriotism is no guarantee of a reduction of anti-Americanism.
