Another Bad Sign in Europe

Euobserver reports that the fight against terror is to appear on the agenda for an EU summit to be held next week in Brussels.

My response: Big deal! So we'll be treated to the sight of a bunch of Europeans chattering about terrorism. What's most telling about all this is that all the proposals for discussion are coming from justice and interior ministers, not defense ministers. The Europeans, it seems, still think the scale of terrorism seen in Madrid is comparable to past terrorist activities in Europe, requiring little more than a police or intelligence reaction. As a response, I'd suggest we all read what Mark Steyn has to say on this point.
