The Price of World Power Status

However far apart France and the United States may be on the Iraq issue, it seems they have something in common: they both know how lonely it can be when you're just trying to do the right thing on the international stage. As euronews reports, protestors in the Ivory Coast, unhappy with the French-brokered peace deal are accusing the French of imperialism and calling French President, Jacques Chirac, a terrorist. But the most humorous aspect must be the protestors who gathered outside the American embassy in Abidjan, capital of the African nation. They were demanding that the US intervene and stop the French. From a certain vantage point, international politics really is quite a comedy.
